The astrological trends and patterns for July bring about the best and worst of the summer. We are in an era of great change which allows us to give form to our dreams if we don’t let other people set our boundaries for us. It Is time to define our own realities. Since Pluto finally left Capricorn for good in late November 2024, a trail of outer planets Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter and Uranus changed signs into signs most of us have never experienced. Pluto began the shifts, having not occupied the sign of Aquarius for 250 years. Neptune moved into fire sign Aries on March 30, 2025, for the first time in over 150 years. Saturn moved into Aries on May 24, 2025, for the first time in 30 years. On June 9, 2025, Jupiter entered Cancer for the first time in 12 years. On July 7, 2025, Uranus enters Gemini for the first time since 1940. With so much of the energy of this many planets in such a shorttime, nothing we are experiencing and feeling is familiar. We are strangers in a strange world of chaos and transformation. In such a dynamic month, timing and awareness of the astrological patterns and trends in July give us clues to use to avoid unnecessary difficulties and lead you to encounter your inner warrior and accept the slowing down of the cosmic skies so we can review the past and move forward.

ASTROLOGICAL TRENDS FOR JULY 2025:

SIRIUS GATEWAY: 7/3-7

In the first week of July, our Sun aligns with Sirius, a major star known as our Spiritual Sun. This alignment unlocks high-frequency energy that can help evoke new ideas and unlock intuitive brain waves. Ideas we have been sitting on will feel doable, as it is a great time for innovation. Every year during the first week of July, a sacred gateway of energy is activated between Earth and the star Sirius, bringing heightened vibrations. The Sun is considered to be the birthplace of the life force, healing us with more powerful energy. At this time Sirius is closer to earth than the Sun is. Many mystics believe this phenomenon is the source of divine energy and heightened consciousness. As Sirius moves closest to the Earth from July 3-7, Sirius is believed to hold energy far more advanced and superior to what is found on Earth. It is time to make decisions and make plans that nourish us. During this time Venus and Mars are in a happy triangle which is great for relationships, especially growth we have longed for. Progress is possible if you are working on projects.

JULY 4: NEPTUNE RETROGRADE; VENUS CONJUNCT URANUS IN TAURUS, ENTERS GEMINI WITH URANUS ARRIVING 7/7/25

Neptune will be retrograde in Aries from July 4-10, then moving back into Pisces until he moves forward on December 10, 2025, returning to Aries on January 26, 2026. Neptune rules the dream time, creativity and intuition. While Neptune is moving backward, it is a good time to investigate what is confusing to you since this is a great time to discover the truth. Venus is the ruler of Taurus which is a sign of resources, food, money and values, and will join Uranus in Taurus for the final time this year, returning in 84 years! If the past 7 years has driven you crazy with the difficulty which Venus rules, you have 84 years before you go through this nightmare again! In the meantime, Venus moved into the air sign Gemini where she will encounter Uranus on his arrival on July 7. When that occurs, Venus in air sign Gemini is comfortable with Uranus in air sign Gemini. Uranus is the planet of awakening and change, often more than you could have imagined. A new cycle of life is beginning for all of us. Time to meet new people, be more sociable, enjoy communication and curiosity on steroids. Gemini is a mutable sign, which means we can all learn to be jugglers of many activities and people. With Uranus in Gemini for the next 7 years, new thoughts and beliefs develop suddenly: life will never be what you expected, Uranus always brings unavoidable change. With Venus and Uranus joined and Pluto trine the combination of planets, we are in a life changing time.

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN JULY 10: SATURN GOES RETROGRADE THEREATER ON JULY 13

The Full Moon in Capricorn balances the energy of the Moon and Saturn, adding responsibility and hard work into the world of feelings and family. It is time to focus on the practical side of life, seeing things as black and white. Saturn is the planet that rules Capricorn and as it is about to move backward until November 27, 2025 when he is returning to Pisces one last time. It is time to make plans and take steps to change course. It is time to take more responsibility for our lives and the direction they are moving in. Time to review and realize what no longer serves you. Itis time to highlight where we need to set boundaries with ourselves and others. With both Neptune and Saturn moving backward together in Aries, they become the leaders of change as we move into authenticity and responsibility. The old framework of life is now transformed with these planets merging into frameworks of compassion and imagination. With the presence of Jupiter in the watery Moon ruled Cancer, from June 9, 2025 – June 29, 2026, we are able to build a strong emotional and communal foundation with greater ease. As we focus on new experiences and develop openness to new things, it will be easier to live peacefully. With Saturn now retrograde, it is time to do a review of your life and take charge of your progress.

MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE IN LEO (7/18-8/11/25)

No one enjoys Mercury retrograde which occurs 3 times a year for 3 weeks, and if you liked the crazy time when Mercury was retrograde from March 14-April 6, only part of that time had Mercury in a fire sign (March 14-30), but now we have a second Mercury retrograde period with Leo, King or Queen of the World, with the fiery Mercury retrograde from July 18- August 11, with a period of extra time until August 24 when Mercury moves past his beginning retrograde degree. As most of us know, this is not the time to have surgery, get tests to find out what your illness is and how to treat it, buy a car or electronic gadget, try to get some conflict resolution resolved and just about anything you can imagine, including taking a new job! It is time to listen to your inner world and resist listening to the advice of friends and family. ASK A THERAPIST INSTEAD. LEO NEW MOON: JULY 24/2025

The New Moon surges with energy of desire and joyful play. We can channel energy in any direction we choose. With the Sun and Moon opposite Pluto in Aquarius, the sky is truly the limit in transformation and growth. Whatever is lurking in our Shadow may come out to visit and help us understand our emotions if they rise to the surface. Avoid power struggles and pay attention to what the universe gives you or retracts from you. There is a whole lot of shifting going on. With the Sun in Leo and the New Moon shining it is time to try new things and let yourself shine bright with confidence and certainty about where you are going and who you are. The New Moon with Neptune in trine in fiery Aries, creativity and inspiration are magically enhanced. Since the New Moon is in trine to Saturn, also in fiery Aries, it is time to gain mastery of your goals, and the energy of fire will lead you to greater awareness.

VENUS ENTERS CANCER (7/30-8/25)

Venus in Cancer brings out the tender part of our nature and the love for home and family, increasing our need for emotional connections with others. Many people will find their creative energy increasing, as well as their intuition. When Venus moves into Cancer she moves into the heart center of others. It is a positive time to surround yourself with people you love who lift you higher. Reach out to them and let them know how you feel. Since we are turning our attention to the softer things in life, it is a good time to decorate your living space and work on being centered and aligned in your home environment. For the second time this summer, the Sun and Mercury joined together in a powerful connection called a Cazimi. The first occurred in Gemini on May 29 and on July 31 with Mercury retrograde, they will join again, this time in Leo. This is a power day for a Mercury retrograde cycle so make a note of what you hear or learn, since the communication planet is trying to send us a message.
