Greetings

Leo Season’s astrology is intense.  With two eclipses on 8/12 and 8/27, nothing will be as we imagine. The first eclipse is a Leo Lunar Eclipse vortex, joyfully stepping into the fullest expression of our authentic selves as we leap and embody our truest hearts with abandon.  The astrology of August invites us to become conscious participants in the moments we are living through as we experience unrelenting change.  With jubilant Jupiter in Leo, we will have a burst of confidence and magnanimity to enjoy. 

As Venus enters her home in Libra (8/6-9/10), our craving for beauty, balance and connection will grow stronger, especially since the Sun and Saturn create a powerful pattern which increases our determination to succeed.  Also on 8/6, Mercury completes his retrograde shadow, bringing the cycle which began on June 30 to shift out of the water energy of Cancer and enter the fire of Leo until 8/2, when Mercury enters Virgo.  As Mercury moves into Leo, Venus also enters Libra and they will form a supportive sextile with one another while connecting into a larger configuration between Pluto in Aquarius, Neptune and Saturn in Aries and Uranus in Gemini, activating the remarkable outer planet “basket” shaping a period of time which extends from 2025 well into the 2030’s.

On 8/6 the inner planet Venus began her time at home, with Mercury following behind (8/9) as he moved into passionate Leo and waited till Mars moved out of Gemini and began his time in Cancer (8/11-9/27) waiting to enter Leo on 9/27.  With inner planets Venus, Mercury and Mars changing signs, expect a period of growth.  With Venus occupying her home in Libra and having one drama to the next it may require our priorities to need reshuffling as well as to redefine our boundaries.  When communicator Mercury moves into charismatic Leo on 8/9, it may embolden us to express our thoughts more confidently.  As Mercury forms aspects with Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn from 8/11 – 8/17 we may find a widening of our vision of who we are and what we need.   On 8/11 Mars leaves restless Gemini and slipped into the emotional waters of Cancer where it becomes more self-protective than aggressive.

AUGUST 2026 TRANSITS:

Venus enters Libra; Sun trine Saturn

As Venus enters Libra (8/6) the Leo Sun will make a triangle with Saturn in Aries for the first time of three this month.  Saturn is mature energy, good for leadership, building diplomacy and restructuring what we are planning to succeed at.  With three passes of these planets in fire, success is on the way!

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE: AUGUST 12, 2026

Pay attention to a dramatic New Moon Solar Eclipse which may bring about surprise.  We may secretly desire things that are surprising and full of possibility.

The first half of August has been building toward the Leo Lunar Eclipse.  Venus, Uranus and Pluto form a Grand Triangle, which opens into other formations (Grand Kite).  With outer and inner planets woven into this pattern once, we will feel two different currents.  A Venus-Neptune opposition carries a feeling of real longing that can feel fated and romance reels mystical.  For those of us who have had our hearts closed, it is time to soften.  The Mercury-Pluto opposition challenges how we think and communicate.   The possibility for a breakthrough as well as painful revelations is available.  Since Pluto sits in direct opposition to the Sun and Jupiter (both in Leo) we will be able to approach the heart of the whole month.  With Jupiter in Leo, joy and hope are abundant, allowing us to feel lighter and freer.

Mars Squares Neptune: August 17

Mars in Cancer squares Neptune retrograde in Aries as our energies run thin.   It may cause confusion or feeling depleted.  It is a time to rest and retreat, a good day for meditation, music, taking a bath or something else to help us to relax in this space of uncertainty.

Venus Opposes Saturn: August 21

On August 21, Venus is opposing Saturn with supportive aspects to Jupiter and the Moon in Sagittarius.  It is a good time to clarify a relationship, get your budget in order, as well as a day to support friends

Sun and Mercury Conjunct the South Node

As the Sun conjoins the South Node at the very last degree of Leo on August 22.  Mercury follows on the same day on August 25, allowing greater ease to release the old self and go toward a more authentic new person that you never expected to be.  Old versions of speaking and communication need revision.  The South Node needs to find a new path so we can become more authentic and whole.

Sun enters Virgo: August 22

August makes a real turn when the Sun enters Virgo, an earth planet that is a picture of perfection, helpfulness and restraint.  As we transition from the passion of Leonine energy and learn to take care of ourselves, slow down and find time to help others.

Mercury Cazimi: Pisces Lunar Eclipse August 28

As the Pisces Lunar Eclipse forms across the sky, Mercury reaches the burning in the heart of the Sun called the Cazimi.  Later in the day, the Moon rises full and in eclipse nearly opposite morning’s cazimi to the degree.  This is on the same Virgo-Pisces axis that has been quietly running its course since late 2024.  With what Mercury sees clearly in the morning, the Moon dissolves by night.  Clarity and surrender stare directly at each other as they have graduated from something two years in the making, a final release that comes as a great relief. 

It is time for a ritual or retreat as we are ready to let go.  The Pisces Full Moon Lunar Eclipse has a dynamic square to Uranus which will bring surprises.  The Leo Solar Eclipse is ready for us to relinquish our pride and reveal more of our authentic selves to the world.  We are asked to release old painful patterns to make room for spiritual growth.  Opening our hearts and putting our compassion into action creates a positive ripple effect in this timeline and beyond.

Jupiter trines Saturn: 8/31

This fire trine offers an opportunity to integrate enthusiasm with discipline and vision with responsibility.  Our dreams can grow without losing their foundation.  The future is calling us to be wildly creative as we expand our awareness of a greater whole and step into the starring role we are meant to play in this universal production.  With Jupiter in Leo trine Saturn in Aries exactly to the degree, the loop is closed so that expansion and structure work together one final time.  We now have a solid ground to land on before heading into September, as well as a new flame of hope, creativity and inspiration.

I went to visit my gorgeous 1-month Super Grandbaby and have pictures of her letting me hold her and enjoy me singing to her.  I feel like I am in a dream since I am the oldest great grandmother in the family!
